Pilates Mat and Reformer (trainee) Teacher
Phillippa was first introduced to Pilates in Sydney, Australia where she lived for 6 years. She loved the way it made her feel physically and mentally and quickly became hooked on Pilates using equipment. It helped minimise injuries whilst training for running events and became a staple form of exercise alongside swimming, running, hiking and cycling.
In 2022, Phillippa decided she wanted to turn her hobby into her job and help other people to feel good and better within themselves and gained her Pilates qualification with BASI Pilates UK.
"Training to be a Pilates Instructor is one of the best decisions I have made, I love teaching. I frequently refer to Pilates as my happy place” says Phillippa.
Practicing and teaching Pilates during Phillippa’s pregnancy made such a difference to how she felt. “Unlike my first pregnancy, I experienced very little back pain or significant aches and pains and I’m sure this was all due to my body feeling the strongest it has been in years thanks to Pilates!”
Her favourite Pilates exercise is the Side Bend, “when executed correctly, it looks so graceful yet is an amazing exercise that engages different muscle groups and also provides side (lateral) flexion”.
