Phillippa Bortoli
Pilates and Reformer Instructor
Trained with BASI. Qualified in 2022.
Phillippa was first introduced to Pilates in Sydney, Australia where she lived for 6 years. She loved the way it made her feel physically and mentally and quickly became hooked on Pilates using equipment. It helped minimise injuries whilst training for running events and became a staple form of exercise alongside swimming, running, hiking and cycling.
On returning to the UK, she relocated with her partner from London to Wiltshire. After a fun and varied career as a retail buyer, Phillippa decided she wanted to turn her hobby into her job and help other people to feel good and better within themselves so in 2022 she undertook her BASI Pilates teacher training. Phillippa is fully qualified to teach Mat Pilates and is undergoing her fully comprehensive training to enable her to teach on the larger Pilates equipment including reformer, wunda chair and caddillac.
Sue Ousby
Student Teacher
Sue first took up Pilates when she moved to Wiltshire in the late 1990s, after the birth of her first child and while she was still serving in the Royal Air Force. Having always been active and previously a competitive windsurfer, Sue found that Pilates provided the ideal form of exercise, helping flexibility and that it was particularly beneficial after a windsurfing injury.
Having dipped in and out of regular Pilates classes since then, Sue became a client of Precision Pilates when the studio opened in Corsham and was inspired to undertake Pilates Teacher Training, which she is currently doing with Body Control Pilates. Sue is looking forward to fully qualifying so that she can share her enthusiasm for the benefits of Pilates with her clients and continue to develop her own practice into later life.
Sue still enjoys windsurfing and dinghy sailing during the summer months (when the water is warmer!), skiing in the winter and generally keeping active. Any remaining spare time is taken up with work as a systems engineer or playing the oboe.
